Jesus
was impressed by the Centurion’s words; so surprised that He observed, “Listen,
I haven’t heard this kind of faith anywhere – not even in Israel!” (Luke 7:9)
Do
you recognize excellence? Bringing attention to exceptional moments is one of
the great opportunities for you to influence your people. What the leader talks
about, emphasizes, and measures is what his or her people will do.
The
Centurion recognized the power and authority of Jesus’ work. As evidence of
this belief, he publicly spoke his affirmation of faith in Jesus. It was an
unusual, unexpected show of character, and Jesus wanted His followers to take
note and understand, “That is what faith looks like!” There are certain actions
your people will take that will reflect the character you know is important to
your organization. As the Holy Spirit gives you understanding to see these
moments, your celebration will help everyone to move closer to the vision and
the values that God has given you.
Listen
carefully, and encourage excellence when you see and hear God’s truth lived
out. Celebrate these good, good times!
